What is Fluently?
Fluently is a translation management platform that helps you organize, translate, and maintain your application’s text content across multiple languages. Whether you’re launching globally or just adding a second language, Fluently streamlines your internationalization workflow.

Account Setup
Creating Your Account
- Sign Up: Visit the Fluently homepage and click “Sign Up”
- Email Verification: Check your email and verify your account
- Choose Your Plan: Select a plan that fits your project needs (Not Yet, only Solo plan available)
- Complete User Profile: Set up your user profile with basic information
- Complete Account: Fill in your profile details (name and timezone)
Inviting Team Members
- Go to Users
- Click “Invite User”
- Enter their email address
- They’ll receive an invitation email to join your account
- You can assign roles, even before the invitation is accepted
Creating Your First Project
Project Setup
- Create Project: Click “New Project” from projects page
- Project Details:
- Name: Choose a descriptive name (e.g., “Mobile App”, “Website”)
- Description: Brief description of what you’re translating
- Select Languages:
- Save: Your project is created with a unique API key for developers

Adding Translations
Method 1: File Upload
Perfect for importing existing translations or bulk uploads:
- Prepare Your Files:

- Nested structure supported
- Import Process:
- Click “Import Data” in your project
- Select your translation files
- Click “Import”
- File Processing:
- Files are automatically organized into the folder structure
- Progress is shown in real-time
- Any errors are reported for review

Method 2: Manual Entry
Perfect for adding new content or making quick edits:
- Navigate: Browse to the folder where you want to add content
- Add Translation: Click “New Translation”
- Enter Key: Type the translation key (e.g., “welcome.title”)
- Add Content: Enter text for each language
- Save: Content is automatically saved as you type
Method 3: In-Context Editing
Edit translations while viewing them in their organized structure:
- Browse Structure: Navigate through your folder hierarchy
- Click to Edit: Click on any translation to start editing
- Multi-Language View: See all language versions side by side
- Real-Time Save: Changes are saved automatically
Translation Workflow
Understanding Translation States
Each translation has a clear status indicated by color-coded icons:
- 🟠 Orange (0-49% complete): Most languages are missing translations
- 🟡 Yellow (50-99% complete): Some languages need translations
- 🟢 Green (100% complete): All languages have verified translations
- ⚪ Gray: No translations exist yet
Draft vs. Verified Content
Fluently uses a two-stage system for quality control:
- Draft Stage:
- Initial translation content
- Shows as unverified
- Can be edited freely
- Visible to translators
- Verified Stage:
- Reviewed and approved content
- Marked with a green checkmark
- Used in your application
- Requires explicit verification
Verification Process
For Translators:
- Enter or edit translation content
- Review for accuracy and context
- Click “Verify” when satisfied
For Reviewers:
- Review draft translations
- Make any necessary edits
- Click “Verify” to approve
- Content becomes available for export
Collaboration Tips

Search and Navigation
Finding Translations
Quick Search:
- Use the search bar at the top of your project
- Search by translation key or content
- Results show matching text highlighted
- Click any result to jump directly to that translation
Browse Structure:
- Navigate through folders in the sidebar
- Expand/collapse folders to find content
- Use breadcrumbs to track your location
Filter by Status: (Upcoming)
- View only missing translations
- Filter by language completion
- Sort by last modified
Exporting Translations
Download Your Translations
- Access Downloads: Go to Project Settings → Downloads
- Select Languages: Choose which languages to export
- Choose Format: YAML or JSON
- Download: Files are generated and downloaded automatically
API Integration (in development)
For developers integrating with your application:
- API Key: Found in Project Settings
- Endpoint:
GET /api/v1/projects/:id/translations
- Response: Nested JSON with all verified translations
- Integration: Use in your application’s i18n system
